Great American Challenge |
WE THE STUDENTS
In order to form a perfect knowledge, establish the following units to ensure an understanding of United States History
Early Exploration
Colonization
Revolutionary Time Period
Declaration of Independence
Constitution
Branches of Government
Civil War
Pioneering
Westward Expansion
United States Geography
States and Capitols
I was born and raised in Virginia. United States History became one of my passions due to the full immersion into the curriculum. When we studied the early events that shaped our Nation we got to go and visit the actual locations that the events took place. To this very day I frequent places like Jamestown & Williamsburg, Virginia, Washington D.C., and New York City.
I am excited to share my enthusiasm and love for the very rich history that our nation has to offer. The above-mentioned units will correspond with your Reading and Writing curriculums.
The class will be very structured and we will work together to create an environment in which you feel safe to share both your opinions of the events as well as seek a deeper understanding of the information being taught. Without this type of environment our very nation would not have many of the freedoms that we enjoy today.
I utilize a combination of direct instruction, cooperative learning, and inquiry learning to deliver the curriculum. Many of the units will have accompanying projects that will be designed to build upon the strengths of the individuals in the class.
Come with energy and never be afraid to ask questions!
I look forward to working with you and I am so excited for this year!!!
